HOLLYWOOD—The nominees for the 53rd Annual Daytime Emmy Awards were unveiled on Tuesday, July 14. They were announced through various media outlets starting Monday, July 13 with two categories courtesy of Extra! and then 2 more categories later in the day by Entertainment Tonight.
Leading all contenders is the CBS soap “The Young and the Restless” with 18 nominations including Outstanding Daytime Drama Series. However, its domination is not by a mile. Followed close behind is the newbie to the circuit “Beyond the Gates” with 16 nominations, and “General Hospital” and “Days of Our Lives” each picked up 13 nominations.
You know who didn’t see too much love “The Bold and the Beautiful” and I can tell you why: the same storyline over and over again. There are some surprises with the acting talent. I’m stunned to not see any of the woman from “General Hospital” not nominated for Lead Actress.
Amanda Setton is the sole actress in the Supporting Actress race, but I think she has MAJOR competition from Trisha Mann-Grant from “Beyond the Gates.” No argument Ambyr Michelle is the front-runner for Emerging Talent category. She literally runs circles around the others in that category.

There ceremony will be held on Friday, October 30 from the Hollywood Palladium. A host for the ceremony has not been announced or details on rather the event will be televised.
