SAN FRANCISCO—On Saturday, June 21, the San Francisco Fire Department rescued two people trapped on a cliff. Officials responded to a 911 call about individuals trapped on a cliff northeast of China Beach.

Firefighters launched a comprehensive rescue operation that included land, coastal, and heavy rescue teams (#SFFDRS1).

The SFFD successfully rescued the two juveniles stranded on the cliffside as the tide rose. Firefighters faced challenging conditions at the victims’ location, including high surf and steep cliffs. A firefighter from Rescue 1 was lowered to assist the juveniles while our rescue watercraft stood by below.

The two were brought to safety using a rope rescue system, and both juveniles were unharmed. They were safely reunited with their families after the rescue operation was completed.
