SAN FRANCISCO—On Friday, August 22, 2025, the San Francisco District Attorney’s Office announced that a conviction was secured against Jian Feng Li, 52, of Millbrae, after a trial by jury for sexually assaulting a minor.

He was convicted of felony forcible digital penetration (PC 289(a)(1)(A)), forcible sodomy (PC 286 (c)(2)(A)), and assault with the intent to commit sodomy (PC 220(a)(1)). He was convicted of sexual battery (PC 243.4(e)(1)), indecent exposure (PC 314(1)) and lewd conduct (PC 647(a)).

According to evidence presented at trial, on July 11, 2024, a 15-year-old victim, visiting San Francisco with family, was forcibly sexually assaulted by Li, a stranger to the victim, in the sauna area of a gym. The victim escaped into a nearby locker room and immediately called a parent for help.

“While the guilty verdict cannot fully return what the defendant took from the victim, I can only hope that the victim and the family find some peace that justice was done” said Assistant District Attorney Rick Hullinger. “I also want to express my gratitude to the jury for their service, particularly given the disturbing nature of the testimony in this case.”

Li is currently in custody. He faces up to 19 years in state prison and must register as a sex offender for life pursuant to Penal Code section 290 for his crimes. His sentencing is scheduled for October 3, 2025.
