HOLLYWOOD—I hate to say this, but I have to: I’m glad “Big Brother 27” is only less than a week from being over. This is a season of the reality competition series that has had me on edge, and I don’t know why. Now that I reflect back, it has to be the strategy of the players this season. It is not bad, its horrid. When Lauren won HOH after that terrible twist that eliminated a player, aka the best player of the season, Rachel Reilly, who was sent to the jury house, I knew the audience was losing one of Will, Ashley or Morgan.
However, Morgan proved to be a comp beast securing her safety, while Ashley is proof, she is WAY MORE STRATEGIC than the actual show is giving her credit. Thank God for the live feeds because we saw the lawyer in actual action, gathering the votes to secure her safety and sending Will Williams to the jury house with Rachel. I like Will, I think he’s a great guy, but he was way too passive as a player for my liking. He played when he wanted, instead of playing every single week.
That matters in a game like BB because if he would have pushed, I guarantee you he would have stayed over Ashley, considering Vince’s distaste for her. In a close 3-2 vote, Will was sent packing, and we had a pivotal HOH on the rise. I hate this stupid BB Blockbuster now. Look, it was fun last season, even fun this season, but going into the final 2 weeks of the game is just terrible. We have not had a single live HOH competition all season.
The first one is going to transpire this Thursday during the double eviction, and I worry about that because we still have the Mastermind supposedly returning with less than 9 days in the game. Either we have a sped-up eviction, or the Mastermind is planning to take out another player ala Rachel. More on that later.
The HOH competition came down to Kelley and Vince, and in a tiebreaker, it was Vince, who claimed his third HOH win. Vince is good at the mental competitions. The most HOHs so far this season with 3. So, who would he nominate after Zingbot returned to the mix, well, it looks like Morgan is safe, I would be stunned if he nominated her and Lauren his #1 should be safe also but wait for it because it’s a doozy.
Vince is a very interesting player because its apparent he knows what he needs to do, but he caves to pressure. I swear BB Podcaster and now author of “Behind the Mirror,” Taran Armstrong should do another book completely focused on season 27 of the series and perhaps title it, “Behind the Strategy: A Look at the Mayhem of BB27.” Why? This season has strategy that just does not make any sense. What are these players thinking with the choices they’re making?! Have any of them actually watched the show? People claimed they have, but I don’t believe it with the moves that are being made. Nothing adds up, at all.
Vince nominated Kelley, Ava and Keanu. I just knew in my gut Vince would nominate Ashley, but the fact that he didn’t despite his hatred for her tells me Morgan did serious work on him, or he really wants to be loyal to The Judges alliance. None of that matters, it truly comes down to the Power of Veto because if Lauren wins, she can save Ava or Kelley and force Vince to nominate Ashley or Morgan (likely Ashley), however, if Ashley wins it, she could save Keanu and then force Vince to choose between Morgan and Lauren, and wouldn’t that be amazing.
Morgan tried her best to get Lauren nominated, but Vince wasn’t budging, however, that changed once she won her third consecutive POV. Yes, Morgan has won the POV for 2 weeks when she was in the most danger, and then during a week, when her ally held the power. Something to note, up to this point, no player has won HOH and POV in the same week. So, Morgan immediately got to work trying to push Vince to nominate Lauren.
It is indeed obvious Lauren, Kelley and Ava are a trio and that needs to be broken up. One of them needs to go, but Vince you don’t need to put Lauren who has been more loyal to you than she ever should have after your constant betrayals. If anything, Lauren’s game winning move would be to take out Vince. She cuts away an unreliable ally and shows a big move to the jury to be honest, and I think we FINALLY get the houseguests and the jury to respect her as a player.
I have never been a fan of Lauren, she’s pretty boring, but seeing her be so loyal as a player, and to be potentially screwed over by Vince of all people is brutal. The one person she saved with the POV that ultimately blew up her game losing her allies as a result. Lauren’s biggest issue is she refuses to talk game with anyone else accept those she is aligned with, and that’s difficult to win a jury vote, when most of those people are part of the jury.
I cannot tell you the last time she spoke to Will, hell, even had a strategic game conversation with Morgan. Lauren and Morgan would be beyond dangerous if they compared notes and I wouldn’t be made at a final 3 of Lauren, Morgan and Ashley. It is a possibility if Vince goes out, and after he nominated Lauren when Morgan used the veto on Ava it’s a chance.
This was a week of emotion, as I know Vince and Morgan aren’t in a relationship, but got damn do they act like it. The constant touching, sleeping in the same bed, the long hugs, the long chats, the whining (jeez God the whining Vince does drives me insane). At the start of the week, Vince had NO INTENTIONS at all of nominating Lauren, as Morgan pushed and pushed, ESPECIALLY with her POV win, that changed, but Lauren managed to flip him back, but Morgan flipped him, and Lauren flipped him back, but Morgan ultimately got her way because the gamer didn’t stop gaming.
Lauren was not happy and made Vince aware she may nominate him in return, and rightfully so. This may be what Lauren needed to happen to finally realize Vince is only looking out for Vince. However, with Keanu and Morgan pushing to get Lauren up and voted out, only 1 more vote is needed to make that happen with Ashley. Morgan you were impressive doing all this work to make it happen, why would you not take the shot to take her out if you have it. Even if you promised Vince. More importantly, it’s happening during a double eviction, so you can hopefully take out another threat to your game and not really have to deal with the aftereffects.
At this point Kelley can go, I would love to see Ashley win HOH and take a shot at Vince and send him packing. Could you imagine Vince and Lauren both going out in the double eviction? That would be insane. We haven’t had a really good DE in years, so who knows what unfolds in 2025. This BB Blockbuster will be pivotal, and I think we might see the one where you have to roll those balls to the top of the platform and then knock them down. We haven’t seen that competition, yet we already did a puzzle or two, so it’s time for that challenge, or perhaps the producers have come up with something completely different.
You have 7 people still in the game and 10 days left after Thursday. We’re down to five players Thursday night and with the Mastermind’s month of mayhem I fear another elimination before the final four kicks off with an HOH, a final 4 veto, an eviction and then the start of Part 1 of the Final 3 HOH competition. The BB producers don’t know how to stay away from messing up their game, so I see no difference in BB25.
