SAN FRANCISCO—Two men were shot near the Civic Center in San Francisco’s Tenderloin district at approximately 5:14 p.m. on Thursday, December 29, police said.

According to the San Francisco Police Department, one of the victims, 39, suffered from unknown injuries and passed away in transit to San Francisco General Hospital. The second victim, 41, sustained non-life-threatening gun shot wounds.

The victims were allegedly shot at by two assailants on Thursday. The gunfire broke out in front of the Service Employees International Union, north of the Civic Center on the 200 block of Golden Gate Avenue between Hyde and Leavenworth streets, authorities reported.

Police are continuing to search for two armed men. No arrests have been made, nor have motives behind the shooting been discovered.
