SAN FRANCISCO—From Friday, October 2 through Tuesday, October 4, the 2020 Hardly Strictly Bluegrass celebrates American roots of music in Golden Gate Park. With no corporate sponsors, the free festival donates to programs in social inclusion, education and health as well as basic needs programs.

Founded by Warren Hellman in 2001, every year the outdoor festival attracts people from around the world. Several hundred music lovers can experience Bluegrass on six stages. Over 80 bands annually perform in San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park every October. For nearly 2 decades, the free program has inspired musicians to express themselves, from all walks of life.

The festivals artist relations manager Bonnie Simmons and the mission of the Hellman foundation enjoy bringing rock, funk, soul and Americana bands to San Francisco every year.

With the COVID-19 pandemic temporarily ending large gatherings across the world, as well as crossing paths with cities trying to re-open around the world, the festival will continue to monitor the pandemic and adhere to advisory recommendations from the CDC and the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health.
