HOLLYWOOD─We all knew that “Frozen 2” would dominate the box-office after making “Let it Go” become one of the biggest songs of 2013 and 2014, and the flick was just iconic. Fast-forward 6 years later and “Frozen II” proved that a hotly anticipated sequel can draw out moviegoers. The sequel completely blew the box-office away with hefty $127 million haul. Yes, that is huge, and to be honest, nice to see that a flick can earn such a hefty debut at the box-office.

The last major box-office opening we saw was “Joker” back in October which took in over $90 million during its opening weekend. On a global scale, the animated feature has already amounted for $350 million. That is indeed impressive America. It is indeed safe to say, “Frozen 2” will have major legs at the box-office in the coming weeks. Last week’s victor, “Ford v Ferrari” dropped to second place with $15 million.

Debuting in third place was the drama “A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood” with $13.2 million. Tom Hanks tackles the iconic role of Fred Rogers, but be warned this is not a biopic about Mr. Rogers America. Landing in fourth place was the thriller “21 Bridges” with $9.2 million. The war flick “Midway” rounded out the top five with $4.7 million. With Thanksgiving near, there are new flicks arriving at the multiplex.

Audiences will be entertained by the mystery of “Knives Out” starring Christopher Plummer, Jamie Lee Curtis and Chris Evans. There is also the drama “Queen and Slim” starring Oscar-nominee Daniel Kaaluya. It should indeed be a busy weekend at the box-office America.
