HOLLYWOOD—It was a slow weekend at the box and I mean a really slow weekend at the box-office. Well, what did you expect it was Super Bowl weekend America! For the third consecutive weekend, the thriller “Glass” remained in the top spot $9.5 million. After 3 weeks in theaters, “Glass” has earned close to $90 million. I expect the flick to cross the $100 million mark by the end of the week. Staying comfortable in second place was the dramedy “The Upside” with $8 million.
The Kevin Hart, Nicole Kidman and Bryan Cranston flick has since earned over $75 million at the domestic box-office since its release in theaters on January 11. Debuting in third place was “Miss Bala” with a meek $6.7 million. Not a decent debut and nothing to shout about. “Aquaman” is still doing great with moviegoers ever since its release in December by dropping to fourth place with $4.8 million. The DC superhero has already crossed the $300 million mark at the domestic box-office.
Rounding out the top five was the animated flick “Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse” with $4.4 million. A little life is about to hopefully burst into the box-office this weekend with the release of the comedy “What Men Want” starring Taraji P. Henson, and the highly anticipated sequel “The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part.” I’m keen to lean to the “Lego Movie” coming out on top next weekend.
