SAN FRANCISCO─On Monday, February 3, around 1:30 a.m., the California Highway Patrol received several 911 emergency calls, indicating a gunman opened fire on a Greyhound bus traveling from Los Angeles to San Francisco. The bus was carrying a total of 40 passengers and was traveling on the 5 freeway, headed in the northbound direction.

A total of six suspects were shot during the incident. The driver of the bus pulled over and the suspect fled the bus leaving the firearm behind. The driver drove towards the Grapevine Road exit and stopped at a Valero gas station for assistance.

Five victims who were injured during the shooting were taken to the hospital. A sixth victim identified as a female, died at the scene. The name of the victim and her age has not been identified to the public.

Authorities apprehended the suspect near the area where he left the scene. A motive for the shooting has not been disclosed to the public. His name and age has not been released to the public. The case is still under investigation.
