OKLAHOMA—On Wednesday, May 15, the Memphis Grizzlies finished off the Oklahoma City Thunder to advance to the western conference finals. The Grizzlies won 88-84 against the Thunder who won’t be making back-to-back finals appearances instead the Grizzlies advance for the first time in Memphis’s franchise history.

Zach Randolph led the Grizzlies with 28 points, 14 rebounds, two assists and two steals. Mike Conley had a near triple double with 13 points, 11 assists and seven rebounds. Marc Gasol came away with 10 points, seven rebounds, three steals and three blocks on the night. The Grizzlies maintained their toughness to grind a game 5 win over the Thunder.

Kevin Durant led Oklahoma with 21 points, eight rebounds and six assists, but only made five of his attempted 21 shots. Serge Ibaka had 17 points and eight rebounds for the game. Reggie Jackson had 16 points, nine rebounds and five assists. What hurt the Thunder was losing their all-star guard Russell Westbrook to a season ending injury in the first round.

The best of seven games series between the Thunder and Memphis came to an end and the Grizzlies await the winner of the San Antonio Spurs and Golden State Warriors series.
