SAN FRANCISCO—The San Francisco Police Department have arrested a suspect involved in a human trafficking incident. The SFPD indicated that on April 8 at approximately 1:30 a.m., a 19 year-old female was forced into a car occupied by several suspects near 20th Street and Shotwell Street and kidnapped. The victim was taken to Santa Clara County where she escaped and made contact with the police. Santa Clara County authorities contacted the San Francisco Police Department and an investigation was commenced.

Investigators from the SFPD Special Victims Unit Human Trafficking Team were able to identify the suspect. On April 8, officers from the Oakland Police Department served a search warrant on the suspect’s home in Oakland, CA and seized numerous firearms.  The suspect, Willie J. McCoy II, 20, was booked on firearms violations and subsequently bailed out.

SFPD Special Victims Unit Human Trafficking investigators obtained a Ramey warrant for McCoy’s arrest for the kidnapping, threats and human trafficking offenses. His bail was set at $1,175,000. A crime alert was issued that included McCoy’s photograph.

On April 11, at approximately 3:23 a.m., officers from SFPD’s Mission Station saw McCoy in a silver Mercedes sedan and conducted a traffic stop near Cesar Chavez Street and Hampshire Street.  McCoy was taken into custody and booked at San Francisco County Jail. The SFPD is still investigating the case.
