SAN FRANCISCO—United States Vice President Joe Biden and his wife Jill Biden have left the Capital for a quick visit to the Bay Area.
The couple is attending a number of gatherings across the Bay Area.
Last night, the Vice President attended a private fundraiser in San Francisco, while his wife gave a speech at Cupertino’s De Anza College concerning the important role of community colleges in the American educational system. She also encouraged young students to seek-out financial assistance by way of scholarships and other grants.
Today, the Vice President is paying a visit to Oakland’s PG&E center to discuss proper job training. PG&E offers a “PowerPathway” program designed to train workers in utility professions. The program serves as a joint effort on the part of colleges, unions, and the public workforce development system to increase the number of qualified potential utilities employees.
Prior to Biden’s speech, the Republic National Committee released a statement condemning the Obama Administration.
“Vice President Biden will continue to tout the same failed Democrat policies of the Obama Administration, but it’s clear that the American people want our country to go in a new direction in 2016. Whether it’s Joe Biden or Hillary Clinton, the American people aren’t ready for more of the same.”
