HOLLYWOOD—For the second consecutive week “Kung Fu Panda 3” remained in the top spot at the box-office with $21.2 million. So far the third installment in the franchise has already grossed over $70 million.
The Coen Brothers didn’t fair too good with an all-star cast for “Hail, Caesar” which debuted with a dismal $11.4 million. With names like George Clooney, Jonah Hill, Channing Tatum and Scarlett Johannson one would have expected much bigger numbers. “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” crossed the $900 million mark at the domestic box-office by adding another $7 million over the weekend.
Leonardo DiCaprio is indeed having a great year as “The Revenant” continues to prove to be a hit with moviegoers adding $6.9 million to its tally, the film has now crossed the $150 million mark at the domestic box-office. Rounding out the top five was the romantic drama “The Choice” with only $6.1 million. Hmm, perhaps the movie might have a bigger showing with Valentine’s Day weekend.
This weekend sees the release of the comic book flick “Deadpool,” the romantic comedy “How to be Single” and the sequel “Zoolander 2.” Hmm, I have a feeling that “Deadpool” might reign supreme this love-filled weekend.
