HOLLYWOOD—Oh, “Traitors” fans we might have a good one on our hands. Why? On Friday, September 18, the newest cast of the upcoming season for the US version of “The Traitors” was released with some serious names. I was patiently waiting to see when we would get news about the upcoming celebrity U.S. cast for the next season of “The Traitors.”
Yes, I know I should be watching ‘New Blood’ but the civilian version just doesn’t do anything for me. I saw it each time I see the new cast list, I get intrigued because the players look interesting, and it never yields the way I think it will. However, this fifth entry into the franchise looks promising because there are 23 faces and there are some familiar faces.
I will admit “The Traitors” has done a bit of overkill when it comes to “The Real Housewives” franchise. We don’t have to have them every season and all of them haven’t really hit. The big names people want to see like Nene Leakes and Teresa Guidice still haven’t made it to the forefront, yet we have Cynthia Bailey from “RHOA.” I’m sorry I feel like she’s going to be another Sheree Whitfield. Cynthia strategically was horrid on “Celebrity Big Brother” and when people come from her jugular in this game, I don’t see her excelling.
They also decided to get Gizelle Bryant from “RHOP.” Who somewhat makes for entertaining TV, but she’s not the biggest name here and I can see many others snipping her out much sooner than she suspects. The sleeper of the 3 to me is “RHOSLC” alum Brownwyn Newport, who I think people might sleep on. She’s much smarter and cunning, so I want to see her.
Other notable players include 2 winners of “Big Brother” in Taylor Hale from BB24 and Jag Bains from BB25, we have “Survivor” season 32 winner Michelle Fitzgerald. I could see those three align as gamers, and you can add 2 more to the list with “The Challenge” veteran Rachel Robinson and Q Burdette, one of the zaniest characters of “Survivor” in recent years with his antics in season 46. To see actual gamers make it farther than a bunch of reality show wannabes who do nothing, I cannot stomach another season of on “The Traitors.”
You have major talent in thespians Dominic Monaghan from “Lost,” “The Lord of the Rings” trilogy, Casey Wilson and Kristin Chenoweth. Yes, I said that right Kristin Chenoweth of Broadway fame who I think could be a major hoot to witness at the Roundtable. A player that I’m intrigued to see play is drag queen Bianca Del Rio from “RuPaul’s Drag Race” season 6. Talk about a confessional icon, Bianca is going to have viewers in stitches with his commentary.
Other names include Bravolebrities, Craig Conover of “Southern Charm,” Emira D’Spain of “Next Gen NYC,” Iain Stirling from “Love Island,” “The Bachelor” alum Joey Graziadei, JaNa Craig from “Love Island USA,” and “The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives” star Whitney Leavitt. Whitney might be the most interesting of this bunch to watch on the series. Other players who will duke it out for the $250,000 cash prize in hopes of capturing the ‘traitors’ include NFL player Rashad Jennings, actor Johnny Sibilly, singer Cody Simpson, Olympian Chloe Kim and TikTok star and social media creator Boman Martinez-Reid.
Normally, I could point out a name or two who I think would be chosen as “The Traitors,” but with this cast, I honestly have no idea and that might be a really good thing. This cast seems like it could be a very interesting batch with some conflict, some laughs and possibly the first time in a long time we could have traitors who actually work together.
No premiere date for the new season of the “The Traitors” has been released, but if previous seasons are any proof, we should expect it to drop of the current U.S. version of “The Traitors” ends and I would expect it on Peacock sometimes in January 2027.
