BEVERLY HILLS—It looks like the awards season will extend until March in 2014. The Academyof Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced on Monday, March 25 that the 86th Academy Awards will take place on Sunday, March 2, 2014. The ceremony will be televised live on ABC.
This is not something new for the Academy as March has been the staple month for the Academy Awards for decades. There were a few occasions in the 2000s where the ceremony took place in March (2006, 2010).
The Academy also announced that the 87th Academy Awards will take place on Sunday, February 22, 2015. Other important key dates are listed below:

Both the 86th and 87th Academy Awards will be held at the Dolby Theatre at Hollywood & Highland Center in Hollywood.
