NEW YORK—The Rams managed to hide their offensive struggles behind a stout defense, defeating the New York Jets 9-6 on Sunday, November 13.

In a game that saw neither team score a touchdown, Los Angeles relied on kicker Greg Zuerlein and linebacker Alec Ogletree to snap the Ram’s four-game losing streak. Zuerlein accounted for all nine of the Rams points with his three field goal attempts while Ogletree managed to seal the victory with a late game interception.

Case Keenum continued to start at quarterback for Los Angeles, finishing the game scoreless with 165 yards passing while completing 17 of 30 attempts. Former Rookie of the Year Todd Gurley rushed for 64 yards on 21 carries, while Kenny Britt led all receivers with seven receptions for 109 yards.

As the Rams offense continues to struggle, running back Todd Gurley was just happy to get a win.

“We just have to score, there’s no ifs ands or buts about it,” Gurley said after the victory. “But at the end of the day, we’re happy to get this win.”

Despite last week’s loss ending in “boos” from the crowd and several sources calling for the coaching staff to bring in number one overall pick Jared Goff, Ram’s head coach Jeff Fisher has remained confident in Keenum as his starter.

“I think Case did a nice job,” Fisher said. “We didn’t get the ball in the end zone. He scrambled and picked up some key first downs and kept drives alive, and that’s what you’ve got to do against a defense like that.”

Jet’s quarterback Bryce Petty threw for 163 yards, one touchdown and an interception in New York’s seventh loss of the season.

The Rams are now 4-5 overall and third place in the NFC West. Los Angeles will face the Miami Dolphins next on Sunday, November 20.
