HOLLYWOOD—It has been awhile since we last discussed the happenings of the “Revenge” world, but after a few weeks off, the drama returned Sunday night with the bombshell of Lydia’s (Amber Valletta) return to The Hamptons. To say that a few characters were surprised would be an understatement to say the least.

The audience was given a glimpse of wedding day photos in episode nine “Surrender,” but there was just one problem, Emily (Emily VanCamp) was more into the doomed wedding than her fiancé Daniel (Joshua Bowman). Margaux (Karine Vanasse) played house to Lydia, who had more demands than what Margaux expected; little did she know who was in charge. Conrad (Henry Czerny) and Victoria (Madeleine Stowe) recalled happier times in their past life, just asVictoriacontinued her quest to bring down her foe.

Sarah gave Daniel an ultimatum where he was unable to share the truth about the ‘pregnancy.’ Nolan (Gabriel Mann) and Aiden (Barry Sloane) were surprised that Emily’s news hasn’t built the trust that she expected. Victoria and Emily played seating arrangements, as they took spares with one another, and discovered Lydia alive; to say that both ladies were speechless was an understatement. That’s the first time that both our heroine and foe, had a common enemy.

It appeared Victoria and Lydia had a bit of unfinished business to tend to as the audience discovered that Victoria revealed that she saved her former best friend’s life. Sarah confided in Charlotte (Christa B. Allen) that she was quitting her job, but she fought for Sarah to fight for Daniel. Gosh, she is so devious. The bombshell of the night came when Lydia gave Emily a bit of push knocking her to the ground and Danny revealed that his fiancé is with child. Let’s just say the Queen Bee was none to happy. Conrad was pleased with the news of becoming a grandfather, while Victoria was onto Emily’s ruse.

Nolan, Emily and Aiden were devising plans to take outLydiaonce and for all, just as Jack (Nick Wechsler) filled in Nolan on Margaux’s current involvement with the Grayson clan. Daniel was pissed when he discovered that his mother told Emily about his tryst with Sarah. It looks like the bond between mother and son is literally falling apart. The sight ofLydiathrew Conrad for a loop, as both former flames fought temptation, but Lydia had an edge as she recorded the conversation. Charlotte attempted to make amends with Emily about her past transgressions, but rather it was sincere or not is another question. Margaux took out her frustration by cutting her ties with the one woman who could bring down the Grayson clan; looks like our new Hamptonite is wising up a bit.

Nolan decided to point Margaux in the right direction for her story. Not sure what his angle is, but perhaps the truth will finally come out.  Daniel and Sarah said a bittersweet farewell in the midst of their circumstances. Charlotte announced to her mother her plans to live her own life and to stop meddling in family members personal affairs. Aiden professed his love for Emily by asking her to marry him.  I’m sorry, I’m not buying the love between these two, she’s destined to be with Jack, but if only Emily could ‘see’ what she needs to see. Jack admitted to Margaux that Conrad was responsible for his wife and his brother’s deaths.

Daniel confronted Emily about not bringing up his deception; while he confessed his true feelings, Emily continued her deception, which made the audience feel a bit of sympathy for Daniel. It appears Lydia and Conrad can’t keep their hands off one another, just as Lydia combed through old photos and spotted Emily aka Amanda Clarke. This does not bode good news for the big wedding day; blood, lies and revelations will be unleashed I fear. The final moments of the episode saw Victoria throwing Emily for a loop when she revealed that she is not attending the wedding! Uh oh, Emily’s plans are in chaos, will next week’s midseason finale be deadly, let’s say it’s a 99 percent given. Until next Sunday “Revenge” lovers!
