SAN FRANCISCO—On Wednesday, March 5, 2025, the San Francisco District Attorney’s Office announced that a conviction was obtained against Ronaldo Ramirez-Feliciano, 21, after a trial by jury for driving under the influence on Mission Street. Ramirez-Feliciano was convicted of driving under the influence of alcohol (VC 23152(a)) and driving with a blood alcohol content of 0.08 percent or greater (VC 23152(b)).
According to testimony and other evidence presented at trial, on May 16, 2024, at approximately 2:13 a.m., California Highway Patrol officers spotted a blue Toyota Tacoma blaring music and straddling the double yellow line near Mission and Bosworth Streets. Officers pulled the truck over and noticed the smell of an alcoholic beverage emanating from the inside. Ramirez-Feliciano was driving the truck.
The CHP Officer noticed nystagmus in the defendant’s eyes and asked him to step out of the car. After denying drinking that day, Ramirez-Feliciano performed poorly on three of four Field Sobriety Tests. After refusing to blow into the Preliminary Alcohol Screening (PAS) Device, he was arrested. At the CHP San Francisco Area Office, the defendant elected to take a blood test. The test revealed a blood alcohol concentration of .132 percent.
The case against the defendant was successfully prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Max Draskovich with assistance from paralegal Josh Nickchen. Prosecutors were able to develop a strong case against Mr. Ramirez-Feliciano based on the California Highway Patrol’s thorough investigation and assistance. Ramirez-Feliciano is currently out of custody. His sentencing was scheduled for March 5, 2025.
