HOLLYWOOD HILLS—The man who stole actress Frances McDormand’s Oscar from inside the Governor’s Ball at the Dolby Theatre on Sunday, March 4 has been arrested. TMZ reported that the suspect, Terry Bryant, 47, was seen taking a photo and posting a video with the award after taking it from McDormand’s table inside the reception.

He was arrested for felony grand theft by officers from the Los Angeles Police Department. Bryant actually posted a video on Facebook Live while holding McDormand’s Oscar, and celebrating with random people inside the Governor’s Ball.

Bryant was detained by security after McDormand alerted security guards inside the venue that her Oscar was missing. Guards detained Bryant until authorities arrived on the scene to take him into custody. Frances McDormand won the Best Actress Oscar on Sunday for her role in the drama “Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri,” where she delivered an acceptance speech giving kudos to all the women nominated at the 2018 ceremony.

Her co-star Sam Rockwell walked away with the Best Supporting Actor Oscar for his performance in the movie. Frances is a previous winner in the Best Actress race winning the prize in 1997 for her role in “Fargo.” She is married to director, writer and producer Joel Coen, who she thanked while on stage Sunday.
