Homicide Cases Piling Up In SF

SAN FRANCISCO—The City of San Francisco has recorded its 10th homicide case for the start of 2015, after a man was found dead in a stairwell on the 1400 block of McKinnon Avenue.

Officers were called to the building, located near the intersection of McKinnon and Lane Street, arriving at 9 a.m. on Sunday, February 1. The victim died of multiple stab wounds.

Authorities are looking to tie up several loose ends in San Francisco’s most recent homicide.

In 2014, the city saw its homicide total plummet. However in 2015 it has since seen a spike in violent crimes.

A profile of the suspect has yet to be released to the public. Authorities are asking for anyone with knowledge of the murder to contact the San Francisco Police Department at (415) 575-4444, or text TIP411 with “SFPD” at the beginning of the message.
