San Francisco, CA – On Sunday, March 23, 2025, five people were injured in a single-vehicle rollover crash in the Russian Hill neighborhood, according to NBC Bay Area.
The San Francisco Fire Department (SFFD) reports that the accident occurred just after midnight at the intersection of Hyde and Chestnut Streets, when a vehicle flipped onto its roof, trapping one individual inside and requiring extrication by emergency personnel.
According to SFFD, three of the injured individuals were transported to the hospital for medical treatment, while two others declined to be taken to the hospital. The crash also caused damage to a nearby power pole, prompting Pacific Gas and Electric (PG&E) crews to respond to assess the situation.
Authorities did not specify whether alcohol or drugs were involved in the crash, and the investigation is ongoing.
The crash took place just one block away from the famous Lombard Street.
Single-Vehicle Collisions
In some cases, investigations may reveal that even in a single-vehicle accident, nearby drivers or unsafe road features share some responsibility. California’s Comparative Negligence rule means that, even if those injured in accidents are found partially at fault, they may still be eligible to receive partial compensation for damages.
Passenger Liability
Driver liability insurance covers both those outside the vehicle and passengers inside. While it can be emotionally difficult to file a Personal Injury claim against someone close to the victim, the financial challenges after an accident can be overwhelming.
A skilled personal injury attorney can help families pursue proper compensation for their loss by handling these legal complexities and negotiating with insurance companies, who always try to reduce payouts on claims they cannot deny.
