SAN FRANCISCO—The San Francisco Police Department revealed that an arrest has been made regarding an auto burglary that transpired in the Richmond District on January 22. According to the SFPD, at 1:34 p.m. on January 22, officers responded to the 200 block of Clement Street about an auto burglary. Officers were able to obtain a description of the suspect and getaway vehicle involved. Investigators from the Richmond Station Investigation Team (SIT) issued a department wide Crime Alert.

On January 24, at approximately 3:00 p.m., the suspect’s vehicle was spotted by Tenderloin Station officers. The vehicle fled before officers could stop the occupants. At approximately 4:20 p.m., members of the Ingleside Station Plainclothes Team spotted the suspect’s vehicle. The plainclothes officers, with the assistance of uniformed patrol officers were able to implement a traffic stop and conduct an investigation.

Tyrell Baldwin, 26, of San Francisco was placed under arrest for auto burglary. Baldwin was booked at the San Francisco County Jail for felony second degree burglary. It was later determined Baldwin was involved in another auto burglary that transpired on January 19, in the Central District and will be charged accordingly. Frederick Reed, 34, of San Francisco was cited for driving with a suspended license and released at the scene.

A third adult male occupant was detained and released at the scene without incident. The SFPD is still investigating the case. Anyone with information on the case is asked to contact the San Francisco Police anonymously at 415-575-4444 or text-a-tip to TIP411 with SFPD at the start of the message.
