NEW ORLEANS, LA—The Golden State Warriors rallied from a halftime deficit to defeat the New Orleans Pelicans 113-109 on Tuesday, December 13.
Steph Curry led the Warriors with 30 points, four rebounds and seven assists. Kevin Durant scored 27 points; Klay Thompson added 17 points, three rebounds and three assists.
Draymond Green recorded his 15th career triple-double with 12 points, 12 rebounds and 10 assists. Only Russell Westbrook (44) and Rajon Rondo (16) have recorded more triple-doubles since Green entered the league in 2012.
Anthony Davis scored 28 points and grabbed eight assists for the Pelicans, who have lost six of their last seven games. The league’s second highest leading scorer was complimentary of his team after the game, despite the loss.
“We played well. We played together. We moved the ball,” Davis said after the game. “We had a little bit of miscommunication on defense, but overall our defense was good. We put ourselves in position to win. We’ve got to take some of the stuff we did in this game and take it to the next.”
Langston Galloway contributed 20 points and five rebounds while coming off the bench for New Orleans; Tim Frazier added 13 points and eight rebounds; Terrance Jones recorded eight points and 10 rebounds.
The Pelicans are 8-18 overall, and will continue a two-game home-stand with a matchup against the Indiana Pacers on Thursday, December 15.
Golden State is now an NBA best 22-4 on the season. The Warriors will host the New York Knicks in their next game on Thursday, December 15.
