SAN FRANCISCO—A 23-year-old man was beaten until he lost unconsciousness by another man with a metal bar after an argument broke out between the two individuals on February 15, authorities indicated.

The victim was walking at 4:41 p.m. near the intersection of Concord and Morse Streets in the Outer Mission District when he ended up getting into an argument with the suspect, a man in his 20s.

After the argument began, the suspect attacked the victim with a metal bar, hitting him several times in the head and torso. The attacker fled on foot, as the victim lay on the ground.

The unconscious victim was found and taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. He had lacerations and contusions to his head. His remained in serious condition the following. No details have been released on what sparked the argument between the victim and suspect. No details on the victim’s name has been released to the public. Police have not made any arrests in the case.
