SAN FRANCISCO—A man who allegedly broke into a 92-year-old woman’s San Francisco home has been arrested on suspicion of burglary, robbery, elder abuse and violation of parole and probation.
The robbery took place April 4 at 4:00 p.m. in the woman’s Chinatown apartment, located on the 700 block of Broadway Street.
The 46-year-old San Francisco resident Fred Jones allegedly entered through the front door of the apartment and began rifling through the drawers of the living room. When the woman walked into the room to confront Jones, she says he snatched her wallet from her shirt pocket and promptly fled the building.
The elderly woman did not sustain any bodily damage during the home invasion and promptly reported the robbery to the San Francisco Police Department.
Per law enforcement, surveillance footage captured Jones entering the building just before the robbery. Using the footage, police were able to identify Jones, recognizable to police because of previous run-ins with the law.
According to police, Jones was wearing the same clothing he had worn during a robbery he allegedly committed on Wednesday.
