MASSACHUSETTS—On Wednesday, June 26, Aaron Hernandez of the New England Patriots was arrested at his house. The arrest is due to an acquaintance of the tight end being found dead in a nearby industrial park.
After two hours, Hernandez was released by The Patriots and they posted the tweet “The New England #Patriotshave released Aaron Hernandez.” The Patriots than released a formal press release about the on going homicide investigation on their player. Charges won’t be revealed on Hernandez until his arraignment On Wednesday at the Attleboro district court.
Hernandez was only wearing a white V-neck, long red shorts and black sneakers when he was taken in at six in the morning. He remains a top suspect in the case of Odin Lloyd who was found shot to death. The Patriots extended their sympathies to Lloyd’s family. The arrest warrant was made after authorities learned Hernandez smashed his security system in his house along with his cell phone.
As of Wednesday afternoon Aaron Hernandez has been charged with first degree murder of 27 year old Odin Lloyd. He was also charged with one count of carrying a firearm without a license, two counts of possessing a large-capacity firearm and two counts of possessing a firearm without an FID card. If convicted, Hernandez can get life in prison without parole. He pled not guilty and is being held without bail.
