So its official, Shawn Ashmore, Anna Paquin and Ellen Page will be reprise their roles of Iceman, Rogue and Kitty Pryde for the sequel.  This news solidifies that most of the original “X-Men” players will reunite for the follow-up to “X-Men First Class.” Those actors will also join Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen and Hugh Jackman who have already signed onto the project.  No word yet on whether Cyclops (James Marsden), Storm (Halle Berry) or Jean Grey (Famke Janssen) will return as well.

In other superhero news, “The Amazing Spiderman 2” will not only feature the villain Electro (Jamie Foxx), but also formidable Spiderman foe The Rhino.  Paul Giamatti is in talks to portray the villain.  Will Electro and The Rhino team up to take down Spiderman or will they be formidable foes, only time will time.  Giamatti joins Foxx, Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Dane DeHaan, Sally Field and Shailene Woodley who have already signed onto the sequel.  Actress Felicity Jones has also been rumored for an unspecified role in the picture.

“The Amazing Spiderman 2” is expected to arrive in theaters May 2014, while “X-Men First Class: Days of Future Past” is set to hit theaters in July 2014.
