SAN FRANCISCO—On Friday, December 7, the San Francisco Police Department made an arrest with the connection to a robbery that occurred on a Muni Line inbound bus on October 20 at 5:35p.m.
The SFPD Muni Task Force officers identified the accomplice in the robbery because of Muni Surveillance video tips from the community. The accomplice was identified as Michael Diles, 25, of San Francisco and an arrest warrant was issued. On December 7, Berkeley Police arrested Diles during a traffic report. San Francisco Country Jail booked Diles on the charges of attempted robbery assault with a caustic chemical, both felonies.
On October 20, Raheem Muhammad, 24, of Oakland and along with accomplice Miachel Diles were on a bus, and at Market and New Montgomery streets. Diles came up behind the 24-year-old victim and pepper sprayed him. Muhammad made an attempt to steal the victim’s backpack. The victim was able to keep his property. Both suspects went off the bus and ran in two different directions. Muni Task Force officers quickly grabbed Muhammad, but his accomplice got away. Muhammad was charged with attempted robbery and conspiracy.
