SAN FRANCISCO—BART announced that they will experience some weekend delays between the Orinda and Walnut Creek stations in order to conduct maintenance repairs and upgrades for a “more reliable, safer, quieter, smoother and faster service.”

BART will be replacing track and electrical equipment as well as performing other improvements to the track between Orinda and Walnut Creek on the Antioch line.

There will be no single-tracking closures for the weekend of August 10-August 11. There will be overnight lane closures on the two far-left eastbound lanes of Highway 24 near the Lafeyette Station from 11 p.m. Friday until 7 a.m. Saturday. The same lanes will also be closed from 11 p.m. Saturday until 9 a.m. Sunday. These closures will not affect BART services.

The weekends that the Orinda and Walnut Creek stations will be closed are as listed:
8/17-18, 8/31-9/2 (Labor Day Weekend), 9/14-15, 9/28-29, 10/12-13, and 10/26-27.

A free shuttle bus, granted by County Connection and AC Transit, will provide a direct service between Orinda and Walnut Creek as well as a service between Orinda, Lafayette, and Walnut Creek stations.
