SAN FRANCISCO—On December 19, the San Francisco Police Department disclosed that two suspects have been arrested in connected to a burglary that transpired on December 16.

The SFPD reported that officers responded to the 1900 block of Hyde Street about a burglary in process. Officers were advised that two unknown suspects made entry into a business.

Officers arrived on scene and spotted a male subject matching the description walking near the area of Hyde Street and Delgado Place. Officers detained the male without incident. Officers established a perimeter of the business and with the assistance of K9 Eli, a search of the building was conducted. K9 Eli alerted officers to a potential suspect inside the business. Officers provided several commands, which the suspect initially refused but was ultimately detained without further incident.

Officers developed probable cause to arrest the two male suspects for burglary. While conducting an arrest search of the suspects, store merchandise was located and returned to the owner of the business.

Michael Smith, 31, and Adam Smith, 38, were transported and booked at the San Francisco County Jail. Smith was booked under the following charges: second-degree burglary (459 PC2nd), conspiracy (182(a) PC), burglary tools (466 PC), possession of controlled substance (11350(a) HS), and parole violation (3056 PC).

Adam Smith was booked under the following charges: second-degree burglary (459 PC 2nd), conspiracy (182 (a) PC), burglary tools (466 PC), resisting arrest (148(a)(1) PC), and unlawful possession of controlled substance (11350(a) HS).
