Union City, CA—On the evening of Tuesday, April 8, 2025, a pedestrian was killed and a driver injured after a pair of collisions involving two vehicles, according to KRON.
The Union City Police Department reports that the incident occurred around Dyer and Cabello Streets.
Police say a woman was first struck by a vehicle, and the male driver stopped and exited his vehicle to check on her condition. As he did so, a second vehicle struck both the pedestrian and the first driver.
Responding officers arrived to find both the pedestrian and the initial driver suffering from major injuries. The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene. The first driver was transported to a local hospital and listed in stable condition.
The driver of the second vehicle, a woman, remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities. Police stated that neither driver appeared to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol at the time of the incident.
The investigation is ongoing, and no names have been released.
