UNITED STATES—On Wednesday, April 9, 2025, the SF District Attorney’s Office announced that Jason Fayad, 34, was convicted after a trial by jury for stabbing a man in the Tenderloin District. Fayad was convicted of assault with a deadly weapon (PC 245(a)(1)).

According to the testimony and evidence presented at trial, On November 8, 2023, the victim was walking down Leavenworth Street near Turk, when he was brutally attacked by approximately eight men. Mr. Fayad joined in on the attack and stabbed the victim in the back. Following the attack, the victim was taken to the hospital for treatment for injuries sustained.

“I want to thank the jury for their careful consideration of the facts and law in this case,” said Assistant District Attorney Yuri Chornobil. “Mr. Fayad will be held accountable for his violent actions against the victim in this case.”

Fayad is currently in custody and his sentencing will be scheduled on May 12, 2025.
