SAN FRANCISCO—On Monday, February 24, 2025, the San Francisco District Attorney’s Office announced that Darrion Rucker, 30, of Oakland was convicted for drug dealing in the Tenderloin region after a trial by jury. He was convicted of possession for sale fentanyl (H&S 11351), and methamphetamine (H&S 11378).

According to testimony and other evidence presented at trial, on April 8, 2024, Rucker was aiding and abetting an unknown suspect with the selling of narcotics on the 700 block of Geary Street. A San Francisco Police Officer observed the defendant retrieve narcotics from a backpack he was wearing and hand them to the suspect upon request. Officers subsequently arrested Rucker and inside of his backpack they found 13.8 grams of fentanyl, 2.0 grams of methamphetamine, and a digital scale.

“I would like to express my gratitude to the jury for their careful consideration of the evidence and for delivering a fair and just verdict,” said Assistant District Attorney Axell Hernandez. “This conviction shows that the people of San Francisco are committed to holding accountable those who traffic poison on our streets.”

He is currently in custody pending sentencing that is scheduled for March 12, 2025.
