HOLLYWOOD—The prize for the biggest award in daytime television, the Emmy, has announced pre-nominees for 2016. The announcement was made on Wednesday, January 27, and leading the pack was “The Young and the Restless” with a total of 23 nominations, followed by “Days of Our Lives” with 20 nominations.
Prepare yourself because some of your favorites were indeed left off the list. No love for Alison Sweeney or Kristin Alfonso for their riveting work in the past year on “Days of Our Lives.” Also missing from the list was Robert Scott Wilson who should have been a candidate for his evil turn as Ben Weston on “Days of Our Lives.” Other notable snubs in my opinion include “General Hospital” alums Billy Miller, Kelly Monaco and Jason Thompson.
Must say I was also surprised to see that Karla Mosley was overlooked for her work on “The Bold and the Beautiful” this past year. A full list of the pre-nominees can be seen below.
