CHICAGO—Four suspects have been arrested and charged for their alleged involvement in the November 9 vehicular hijacking and beating of a Chicago man.

Suspects Rajane Lewis, 21; Dejuan Collins, 20; Julian Christian, 26; and a 17-year-old girl being charged as a juvenile—whose identity is being withheld—were allegedly involved in the videotaped beating of David Wilcox, 49, in the middle of a Chicago street.

Wilcox claims that he was attacked after being involved in a minor accident near a bus stop, where he asked if the other driver had car insurance; he described the encounter during an interview with the Chicago Tribune on November 10.

“The car pulled up next to me, we side-swiped each other, but they hit my car. I put the car in park, the light was red, I got out of the car. One of the guys [an] African-American at the bus stop – said ‘Yeah, that’s one of those white boy Trump supporters.’ And I said, ‘What does that have to do with this accident? I just want to exchange insurance.’”

Then, punches were thrown, Wilcox told the Chicago Tribune. “Next thing I know, I had five people on me, and I fell to the ground, I was kicked in the head, they were in my car, stealing all my stuff.”

The footage shows Wilcox being hit and kicked in the head while the suspects attempted to climb into the back of his vehicle.

“I tried to go to the car, I got hit some more” Wilcox said. “I tried to get into a defensive stance to try to ward them off a little bit, hold them back, and then another guy said ‘Get the car! Get the car!’” One suspect drove off with victim’s car during the incident – but Wilcox clung to vehicle for approximately one mile before finally letting go, ABC30 reported.

Bystanders can be heard shouting, “he voted Trump!” and “don’t vote Trump!” throughout the video. Wilcox claims he never acknowledged his support for President-Elect Donald Trump during the incident and that his attacker’s had no legitimate indication of his political affiliation. He voiced his support for him in his interview with the Chicago Tribune.

“[Trump] might not speak politically correct, but he’s the best man for the job,” Wilcox said.  “He’s the one that’s going to bring back jobs, the trade, get the people that are here illegally out.”

Wilcox was taken to the hospital after the incident, where it was reported he was in good condition and suffered several bumps and bruises.
