SAN FRANCISCO—On Wednesday, May 21, 2025, the San Francisco District Attorney’s Office disclosed that Jefferson Silva, 25, was convicted after a trial by jury for a violent attack on a family in the Tenderloin. Silva was convicted of Assault (PC 240) and Criminal Threats (PC 422).
According to testimony and other evidence presented at trial, on April 29, 2024, at 11:20 a.m., the defendant assaulted a father and threatened his wife and baby while they were out walking near the playground at Hyde Street and Turk Street. This assault left the victim hospitalized and his family impacted.
Officers at the Tenderloin Station arrived at the scene of the attack within three minutes and rendered first-aid until the victim was transported to San Francisco General Hospital by ambulance.
The case against Jefferson Silva was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Samantha Zurcher, with assistance from paralegal Josh Nickchen and Victim Advocate Lily Bueno, who worked closely with the victims throughout the pendency of this case.
A sentencing date for Silva has not yet been disclosed.
