SAN FRANCISCO—On Wednesday, April 19, the SF District Attorney’s Office disclosed that a conviction of Keith Davila, 27, after a trial by jury for violating the terms of a criminal protective order. He was convicted of violating a court order (PC 166(c)(1)).
According to testimony and other evidence presented at trial, the Superior Court of San Francisco issued a criminal protective order in December 2023 ordering for Davila to stay 150 yards away from the protected party and her home. In February 2024, he ignored the terms of the valid Court order by returning to the protected address despite the Court’s prohibition.
The protected party found and reported the violation to the San Francisco Police Department who investigated the violation and arrested the defendant. While out-of-custody, he again violated the same protective order in San Mateo County in July 2024 by contacting the protected person despite the Court’s clear prohibition.
The case against Mr. Davila was successfully prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Gwendolyn West with assistance from District Attorney Investigators Dana Lee, Molly Braun, Rosana Figueroa, paralegals Lena Ku and Loretta Luu, and Cassidy Schreiner and IT support from Noaeh Pinaire and Morris Moore. Victim Advocate Alma Garcia, Jodee Brown and Janet Pedroza worked closely with the protected parties through the pendency of this case. Prosecutors were able to develop a strong case against Davila based on the SFPD quick response, investigation and assistance.
“Our community has stood by both the victim and the San Francisco courts in this case by holding the Mr. Davila responsible for violating the court’s order,” said Assistant District Attorney Gwendolyn West. “I am grateful to the jury for their diligent work.”
