SAN FRANCISCO—Officials from the Daly City Police Department arrested a San Francisco man for beating his girlfriend to death on Saturday, December 17. 

According to reports, police responded to 18 Fairview Avenue in Broadmoor, Daly City at approximately 12 a.m. in response to reports of a domestic dispute. Authorities found the victim, Ariana Hatami, 23, of Daly City, suffering from critical injuries, including a head laceration. She was immediately transported to San Francisco General Hospital, where she died from the injuries she sustained. 

The victim’s boyfriend, Fredrick Tran, 24, of San Francisco was found at the scene and arrested, police said. Tran was taken to Maguire Correctional Facility in Redwood City, where he is being held without bail.

The immediate cause of death is still under investigation. 

“Early indications appear that blunt force trauma may have been the cause of her death and we’re looking into that with the help of forensic crews,” said Daly City Police Department Sgt. Ron Harrison in a statement.
