SAN FRANCISCO—According to witness testimony and evidence during the trial, on Monday, April 15, 2024, at approximately 11:20 p.m., California Highway Patrol saw a black Honda Accord, belonging to 29-year-old Kenton Quilenderino on the United States (U.S.) 101 southbound near Cesar Chavez Street, going in and out of lanes almost hitting another car. Therefore, patrol officers pulled his vehicle over for a traffic stop.
During a sobriety test, Quilenderino showed signs of drunkenness and failed the standardized field sobriety test. When he took the chemical blood test under California’s implied consent law, it showed a blood alcohol concentration (BAC) of 0.198% more than twice the legal limit.
On Friday, August 15, 2025, in a trial by jury, Quilenderino was found guilty of the following charges: driving under the influence of alcohol (VC 23152 (a)), driving with a blood alcohol content of 0.08 percent or greater (VC 23152 (b)) and the allegation of prior alcohol driving under the influence (DUI) conviction in the past 10 years (VC 23540), which proven to be truth.
This case had been prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Shauna Kashyap with assistance from paralegals Josh Nickchen and Raquel Paz Aleman. IT support came from Leland Chan and Noaeh Pinaire. With help and support from California Highway Patrol, the prosecution team was able to provide a strong and solid case, working a thorough investigation against Quinlendero.
