OAKLAND—Not only did the Oakland law enforcement work together to capture the culprits, but community members helped out too.
Oakland Police Department’s (OPD) Criminal Investigation Division (CID) is playing a crucial role in helping the Alameda County District Attorney’s Office in capturing these violent offenders, starting on Sunday, August 3, 2025.
On Sunday, August 3, 2025, patrol officers from OPD apprehended an Oakland resident for armed robbery. There were two victims from the 5500 block of International Boulevard. Police were able to recover the stolen property and a firearm at the time of the arrest. There have been charges filed for this particular case.
On Monday, August 4, 2025, OPD’s Special Resource Section (SRS) East Officers apprehended an Oakland resident for robbery and assault which occurred Sunday, June 15, 2025, on the 200 block of 14th Street. The robber in question had been charged with attempted homicide and robbery in this particular case.
On Tuesday, August 5, 2025, OPD’s SRS East Officers apprehended an Oakland resident for armed robbery at a business in the 2900 block of High Street on Tuesday, July 29, 2025. A firearm was found at the time of the arrest. The case is now taken on by the Alameda County District Attorney’s Office.
On Wednesday, August 6, 2025, police officers from the OPD apprehended a minor in relation to a strongarm robbery and attempted rideshare driver carjacking that took place April 2025. This particular minor was already in custody for a number of robberies that occurred in June 2025. Alameda County District Attorney’s Office is reviewing this particular case to see what charges need to be filed.
