HOLLYWOOD—Singer Meghan Trainor has been diagnosed with a vocal chord hemorrhage and a speedy recovery requires her to not speak for a given amount of time.
Following the news, the star had to cancel the first two shows of her MTrain Tour.
The singer took the news to Instagram on July 2. She shared a snap with the following: “I don’t want anyone worrying but I have had a hemorrhage on my vocal chords. Right now the doctors want me on complete vocal rest until they are healed so I have to postpone my first two shows in Atlantic City and Connecticut. I promise that I will make it up to my Megatronz. I have never missed a tour date before so this is killing me. I love you all very much and want to get healed quickly so I can show you this amazing tour we’ve been working on. I am truly sorry to everyone who has bought tickets and made travel plans. I hate this.”
She captioned the shot of the note: “I’m so sorry Megatronz please forgive me. I will never speak and completely heal as soon as possible so I can show you how hard we’ve been working on this #MTRAINTOUR.”
She later took to Instagram a small clip of her doctor telling her she needs to “cancel everything” referring to her scheduled shows. She captioned the video, “I have bad news, my doctor says I have to postpone two more dates, Detroit & Chicago and sadly I have to cancel my appearance at the Common Ground Music Festival. But there is good news!! I’m feeling much better, have already rescheduled most dates and will come back around to see you all soon!! Thank you Dr. Kessler for seeing me immediately and being so helpful and thank you guys for all the edits/get well posts you made. You made me feel a lot better about this crappy situation. I love you all so much!! New dates for postponed shows below!!”
She continued, “MON 9/7 Uncasville, CT – Mohegan Sun Arena WED 9/9 Chicago, IL – Aragon Ballroom FRI 9/11 Detroit, MI – The Fillmore SUN 9/13 Atlantic City, NJ – Borgata Festival Park.”
Trainor is best known for her hit songs “All About That Bass” and “Dear Future Husband.”
