NEW YORK—Metta World Peace is headed to the New York Knicks. World Peace came to terms with the Knicks on a two-year deal, with the first year guaranteed.
The Los Angeles Lakers amnestied Metta over the weekend, which turned him into an unrestricted free agent. The deal will be worth about $1.6 million for each season he plays with New York. The second year will be Peace’s option.
Metta World Peace thought about playing for the Los Angeles Clippers or heading overseas to China. The Knicks coach welcomed the addition of the athlete to their team who brings a strong mentality.
