SAN FRANCISCO—On December 18, the San Francisco Police Department reported that an arrest was made in a fatal shooting in the Tenderloin District.

The SFPD reported on October 30, at approximately 6:11 p.m., officers responded to the area of Ellis and Jones Streets on a report of a shooting.  Upon arrival, officers located an adult male lying on the ground suffering from a gunshot wound. Officers rendered aid and paramedics arrived on scene and transported the victim to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries, where he later died.

The SFPD Homicide Detail responded to the scene and is leading the investigation. Through the course of the investigation investigators identified the suspect. Investigators developed probable cause to obtain an arrest warrant for the suspect and a search warrant for his residences.

On December 12, investigators located and placed the suspect into custody. Investigators served search warrants in San Francisco, Hayward, and Antioch, California. Investigators located and seized evidence as a result of the search warrants.

The suspect identified as Michael Javius, 22, from Hayward was arrested and transported to San Francisco County Jail. He was booked for the arrest warrant on the violations of homicide (187 PC), conspiracy (182 PC), accessory after the fact (32 PC).
