San Francisco, CA—On the early morning of Saturday, February 22, 2025, a motorcyclist was found unresponsive near the Harrison Street off-ramp from westbound Interstate 80 and later pronounced dead at the scene, according to CHP Fatal.
The California Highway Patrol (CHP) reports that the accident was discovered around 12:00 a.m when officers responded to reports of a motorcycle lying on its side on the right-hand shoulder of the on-ramp. Upon arrival, authorities found no sign of the rider, prompting a search of the surrounding area.
A short time later, emergency responders located the motorcyclist near the top of the ramp by a building. Paramedics attempted life-saving measures, including CPR, but the victim was ultimately pronounced dead at 12:22 a.m. Investigators later confirmed that the incident was captured on CCTV by the Transportation Management Center.
Due to the severity of the crash, the Harrison off-ramp to westbound Interstate 80 was temporarily closed while officials conducted their investigation. The San Francisco County Coroner’s Office was notified and arrived at the scene to take over the case.
The motorcycle was towed from the scene to a local impound yard as investigators worked to determine the cause of the crash. The victim’s identity has not been released pending notification of family.
