HOLLYWOOD—When Tyler Perry’s “The Haves and Have Nots” wrapped its climatic season two finale, Amanda (Jaclyn Betham) was totting around the Cryer mansion with a gun in hand and a shot went off. So who did the mentally unstable Cryer shoot? That answer has yet to be answered, but I suspect it’s definitely Amanda who shot herself, if not it was either Celine or her son.
The third season opened with the aftermath of that shooting and the revelation that Candace (Tika Sumpter) is now holding Jim (John Schneider) captive. Seems the tables have turned. Wyatt (Aaron O’Connell) resorted back to drinking to deal with his grief of killing a child, and broke into his father’s phone and learned all types of secrets. I can only wonder what he will do with this newfound information.
Hanna (Crystal Fox) hosted a homecoming party for Benny (Tyler Lepley) just as he spotted his mother having eyes for a new man. Could Hanna finally find someone in the love department? Hanna got a bit concerned that Quincy might cause a problem. I was stunned to hear Candace tell Benny her tale of vengeance against her enemy.
Veronica (Angela Robinson) did her best to get in touch with her hubby David (Peter Parros) who was busy getting cozy with his co-worker, Maggie. The two finally gave into temptation, but didn’t go all the way; guilt was riddled across David’s face, as well as Maggie.
Candace took a call where she got an update on where Jim was being held captive. It appears Candace has a bit of worry about Quincy coming face-to-face with her. To see her turn the tables on Jim, the same way he did to her was quite funny to say the least. Hanna checked her messages and learned that Katheryn (Renee Lawless) wouldn’t be able to make it.
Hanna had her world rocked when Bryon showed up to her home uninvited. She refused to allow him to stay; this could be due to the fact that she is aware that he works for Jim Cryer. Wow, Bryon confessed to the truth, which left Hanna speculating that it’s possible that perhaps Wyatt did hit Benny. The wicked side of the Christian came to the forefront as she confronted the detective on his lies. That woman can turn on and turn off a switch in a way that no other can.
When David refused to answer his phone it prompted Veronica to resort to her old ways as she put on her tennis shoes. Quincy broke in her home once again, which unnerved the wicked one and he came onto Veronica and made threats. It was a terrifying moment, where Veronica made threats to Quincy’s family. I must say, the audience finally got to see Veronica squirm a bit for all of her bad behavior.
Candace staged a scene, as she snuck out of Benny’s bedroom window to pay Jim a visit. Veronica arrived at David’s door and decided to call his phone one more time before making her move. Next week’s episode looks to be a stunner, as Veronica unleashes wholly hell on Maggie for making a move on her husband!
