SAN FRANCISCO—On Tuesday, December 31, the San Francisco DA’s Office announced in a news release that a conviction was obtained against Oren Zakhrabov, 35, after a trial by jury for driving under the influence in SOMA. He was convicted of driving under the influence of alcohol (VC 23152(a)) and driving with a blood alcohol content of 0.08 percent or greater (VC 23152(b)).

According to testimony and other evidence presented at trial, on March 23, 2024, at approximately 2:09 a.m., California Highway Patrol officers saw the defendant speeding in a yellow Lamborghini past other cars, peel out from a red light, with no license plate while on Harrison Street just east of Ninth Street. When CHP approached the car on the driver’s side, they smelled a strong odor of alcohol.

The case against Zakhrabov was successfully prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Corliss Brekken with assistance from paralegals Joshua Nickchen and Raquel Paz and IT support from Noaeh Pinaire. Zakhrabov is currently out of custody. His sentencing is scheduled for January 24, 2025.
