San Jose, CA – On the night of Saturday, March 22, 2025, a pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle on Almaden Expressway, according to NBC Bay Area.
The San Jose Police Department reports that the incident occurred around 10:15 PM near Almaden Expressway and Ironwood Drive.
Officers arrived at the scene to find that the pedestrian had been hit in the southbound lanes. Despite the efforts of medical personnel, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of a red 2009 Kia sedan, who remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities, was not injured. Police noted that intoxication was not believed to have been a factor in the crash.
This marks the seventh fatal traffic collision in San Jose in 2025 and the fifth pedestrian fatality of the year. The crash remains under investigation, and authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward and contact the San Jose Police Department.
