SAN FRANCISCO—On Friday, March 14, the San Francisco Fire Department reported that during the afternoon while returning from a call for service, a projectile discharged by an unknown subject entered and ricocheted throughout San Francisco Fire Department Engine 1.

No firefighters were injured during the incident. It was later discovered to be a BB. The SFFD is working closing with the Police Department to hold those responsible accountable.

“We will not tolerate any violence toward our members, who put their lives on the line to protect San Francisco’s citizens and visitors,” the SFFD indicated in a post on X.

No additional details about the incident have been disclosed to the public.

SFPD is actively investigating this case and searching for a suspect. The SFPD noted that attacks on public safety partners are unacceptable. Anyone with details should contact SFPD at 415-575-4444.
