SAN FRANCISCO—On Tuesday, May 6, the SF District Attorney’s Office announced that
Solis Soto, 34, Martha Alvarado-Rodriguez, 49, and Maria Valle-Rodriguez, 47, have been charged with multiple felonies in connection with narcotics trafficking in the Tenderloin with a minor.
Soto and Alvarado-Rodriguez were arraigned on May 2, and pleaded not guilty to all charges and denied all allegations. Valle-Rodriguez was arraigned on May 5 and pleaded not guilty to all charges and denied all allegations.
Soto and Alvarado-Rodriguez are each charged with one count of solicitation of a minor to use or sell a narcotic (H&S 11353(b)), and two counts of transportation, sale and giving away a controlled substance (H&S 11352(a)). The suspects are also each charged with three counts of solicitation of a minor to use or sell a narcotic (H&S 11353(b)), one count of possession of a controlled substance for sale (H&S 11351), one count of possession of cocaine base for sale (H&S 11351.5), and one count of possession of methamphetamine for sale (H&S 11378).
The criminal complaint includes several allegations including that they possessed a substance containing more than one hundred grams of fentanyl (H&S 11370.4(c)(1)(B)) and that Soto was released on her own recognizance at the time of the charged offense on a pending felony case (PC 12022.1(b)).
According to court documents, officers with the San Francisco Police Department conducted a month-long investigation into numerous alleged purchases of illegal drugs from Soto, Alvarado-Rodriguez and Valle-Rodriguez on the 600 block of McAllister Street in the Tenderloin. On the night of their arrest, April 29, officers with the SFPD saw Soto, Alvarado-Rodriguez and a minor leave an apartment in Oakland at 8:03 p.m. and travel to the Tenderloin District where they parked on Golden Gate Avenue and Gough Street.
At the time of the arrest the police searched the vehicle and found over 60 grams of fentanyl, over 28 grams of methamphetamine and over 15 grams of cocaine base as well as two weighing scales and numerous plastic baggies. Following the arrest, police executed a search warrant at the apartment in Oakland at 9:30 p.m. and seized over 60 more grams of fentanyl, over 25 grams of cocaine base, eight grams of methamphetamine and thousands of dollars in US currency. Valle-Rodriguez was arrested at the apartment in Oakland.
The District Attorney’s Office moved to have Soto, Alvarado-Rodriguez and Valle-Rodriguez detained pending trial because of the public safety risk they pose. The court set no bail without prejudice, and each remains in custody. Soto and Alvarado-Rodriguez’s next court date is May 14, to determine a date for the preliminary hearing in their cases. Valle-Rodriguez’s next court date is May 14 for the preliminary hearing in her case.
