SAN FRANCISCO—On Thursday, May 8, the San Francisco Police Department announced that a suspect was arrested in connection to a fatal shooting in the Mission District.
On May 2 at approximately 12:42 p.m., officers responded to a residence on the 3000 block of 26th Street on a report of a possible shooting. Officers arrived to find an adult male suffering from a gunshot wound. Paramedics arrived and pronounced the victim dead at the scene. No details on the victim have been disclosed to the public.
Investigators from the SFPD Homicide Detail led the investigation. Through the course of their investigation, investigators identified Trayvon Williams, 21, of San Francisco as the individual involved in the murder and developed probable cause to obtain an arrest and search warrant.
On May 7, Williams was taken into custody in Novato, California. With efforts from the SFPD, Novato Police Department, and Marin County Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT), Williams was booked into San Francisco County Jail for the charge of murder (187(a)PC).
